CONNEAUT LAKE - Sam Petruso, 72, of 12089 N. Watson Road, Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Meadville, May 24, 1937, a son of Custode and Concetta Salvia Petruso. He married Virginia Diehl Jan. 22, 1970. She survives. He retired from being an auto technician and a truck driver. He was a member of New Beginnings Church of God of Meadville. Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Diehl) Petruso of Conneaut Lake; four sons, Michael Petruso and his wife, Chantal, of Lexington, S.C., Steve Petruso and his wife, Lisa, of Meadville, Jim Petruso and his wife, Tammy, of New York, N.Y., and Samuel Petruso and his wife, Krista, of Conneaut Lake; a daughter, Susan Kaleinhans of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Madeline Damico of Meadville; a brother, Benny Petruso and his wife, Angelina; a brother-in-law Albert Nardi of Leesburg, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and four stepsons, David Alexander and his wife, Debbie, of Conneaut Lake, Bill Alexander and his wife, Sharon, of Conneaut Lake, Tom Alexander and his wife, Janet, of Conneaut Lake, and Doug Alexander and his wife, Stephanie, of Guys Mills. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Santo Petruso and Nick Petruso; a sister, Josephine Nardi; an infant daughter, Dorothy Petruso; an infant son, Joseph Petruso; his father, Custode Petruso; and his mother, Concetta (Salvia) Petruso. Calling hours will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville. Funeral and committal service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at New Beginnings Church of God with Pastor Temple Jarrell of New Beginnings Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, is in charge of arrangements.
