Elmer R. Brown

Elmer R. Brown, 77, of Centerville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his residence. He was born on February 3, 1947, in Union City, the son of Raymond Brown and Evelyn Stafford Brown. He married Juanita J. Groters on February 14, 1998.
He was a 1965 graduate of Union City High School and he owned and operated his family's three-generation farm, known as Spring Valley Farm, which has been in operation since 1901.
Elmer was a member of the Union City Christian Missionary Alliance and President of Loomis Cemetery Association.
Farming was Elmer's life. It was something he loved, and he enjoyed mentoring and helping other young farmers by sharing the knowledge he had gained over the years. He loved learning and was always eager to learn new things.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Juanita of Centerville; a daughter, Lisa Peel and her husband Raymond of Conneautville; a son, Brian Brown of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a step-daughter, Shelley Moreau and her husband John of Jasper, Georgia; two step-sons, Mark Deeter and his wife Michelle of Lebanon, Ohio and Kevin Deeter of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Diana Peel, Kyle Brown, Nathan Brown, Claire Ledbetter, Cameron Deeter, and Meghan Deeter; two great-grandchildren, Nora Ledbetter and Ivey Ledbetter; and many foster children.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diana Schwartz Brown; a son, Joshua Brown; and a foster son, Robbie Shugarts.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, July 18th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Tom Hunsberger, officiating.
Private burial will take place at Loomis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Elmer was a special person who I met when he came into the now Farm Service Agency office. Like a family member all the farmers, we have been through all of the life changes with them. Elmer and Dan were very good friends and help mates when it came to farming.
