CLEARWATER, Fla. " William (Bill) Lyle Barton, 73, of 1620 S. San Remo Ave., Clearwater, Fla., died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.
Bill was born in Meadville on Jan. 28, 1937, a son of Ivan and Ethel Barton. He was Townville’s miracle baby, weighing just one pound, 10 ounces.
He married Patricia Rouse.
He graduated from Townville High School in 1955. After Bill graduated, he joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and was stationed in Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He worked for American Viscose in Meadville, The Meadville Tribune and he later worked for The Clearwater Sun newspaper and Hearst Corp. for 38 years as a pressman and caretaker.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Barton of Clearwater; a daughter, Lori Muir and her husband, Ian; a grandson, Aidan Muir; two sisters, Lila L. Hollabaugh and V. Gail Lobdell; and nieces and nephews, Lisa Maas, Brad Hollabaugh, Brian Hollabaugh, Brett Hollabaugh, Melissa Ferguson, Terry Lobdell, Barry Lobdell and Joe Lobdell, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Main Street, Townville, a branch of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., Meadville.
The funeral and Committal Service will follow at 3 p.m. at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen Vancise of Chapmanville Community Church officiating, and a military service by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 Color Guard.
Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
