William Bruce Beal, 79, of 583 Noggle Road, Polk, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his residence. Born Jan. 8, 1930, in Meyersdale, Somerset County, he was the son of Walter Beal and the former Mary Ethel Good. Mr. Beal worked as a fabricator for Mica in Cleveland. After his retirement from Mica, he worked as a guard at Electralloy. He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime. Mr. Beal enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, farming and woodworking. He married Marlene Beal on Jan. 11, 1967, and she preceded him in death June 14, 2006. Mr. Beal is survived by four children, Glenn Beal and his wife, Melissa, of Brookville, Frank Beal of Phoenix, Ariz., Susan Myers of Polk and Kathy Ramsdale and her husband, Charles Ramsdale Jr., of Loveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Menessa Beal of Brookville, Glenn Beal Jr. and his wife, Jen, of Brookville, William Beal of Brookville, Daniel Rhodes Jr. and his wife, Jena, of Oil City, Matthew Rhoads and his wife, Michelle, of Washington, Pa., Mindy Sue Rhoads of Darmstadt, Germany, and Jason Ramsdale and Kristin Ramsdale, both of Warren, Ohio; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley and Dinah; and one brother, Charles. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Beal was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pat Daugherty from Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church officiating.
