Walter H. Shields

Walter H. Shields, Sr. Walter H. Shields, Sr., 70, of Moran Street, Oil City, passed away at 11:22 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Clarion Hospital. Born February 19, 1941, in Franklin, Walter was the son of the late Eugene Walter and Edna Mae Patton Shields. Walter was retired from Polk Center, where he had been employed in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and made Native American crafts. Walter is survived by his sons, Timothy Shields of Franklin, and Walter H. Shields, Jr. and David Shields, both of Oil City. He is additionally survived by his brother Dennis Shields and his wife, Wanda, of Titusville; and his 10 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his son, Donald H. Shields; his twin brother, Dane Don Shields; and his two infant sisters. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is handling arrangements. There will be no visitation.
