Virginia S. Rice Virginia S. Rice, 64, of 1120 Market St., Meadville, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.Born Sept. 2, 1944, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Lawrence Glenn Webber, stepfather Irvin Troxell, who raised her, and Helen Jean Burns. She married Arden L. Rice on Oct. 16, 1965. He survives.She was a nurse aide at Beverly Health Care from which she retired after 18 years, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.She enjoyed reading, embroidery, fishing and camping, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Helen Jean (Burns) Troxell of Titusville; five sons, Michael Rice and his wife, Roberta, of Cambridge Springs, Andrew Rice and his wife, Tamika, of New Castle, Gary Roy Rice and his wife, Karen, of Meadville, David Brian Rice and his wife, Amanda, of Meadville, and Jack Russell Rice of Meadville; four sisters, Mary Hunt and her husband, Chuck, of Pleasantville, Ilene Rice and her husband, Donald, of Centerville, Gladys Brenizer and her husband, John, of Townville, and Dorothy Waychoff of Titusville; two brothers, Laurince Roy Webber and his wife, Janet, of Titusville, and Robert Webber and his wife, Alta, of Meadville; eight grandchildren, James Rice, Sarah Rice, Brandon Rice, Patrick Rice, Lucas Rice, Aeryn Yochim, Michael Kimmel and Kayla Dillen; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Glenn Webber; her stepfather, Irvin Troxell; a sister, Helen Webber; and a brother, Irvin Troxell, Jr.Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.The funeral and committal service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rodney Johnson of First Church of the Nazarene officiating.Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
