Virginia Mae McElhaney Virginia Mae McElhaney, 80, formerly of Meadville, and residing at 31 Park Ave., Meadville, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. She was born in Tionesta on March 30, 1928, a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Belle Wood Kennedy. She married Raymond V. McElhaney in 1946; he preceded her in death March 25, 1988. Virginia had attended school in Tionesta. Having been married to a Navy man, Virginia traveled to different parts of the United States. She settled down in Titusville before moving to Meadville. Virginia was a housewife and was active in several organizations, including Navy Wives Organizations, the PNA (Polish National Alliance) Club in Titusville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legions in both Titusville and Meadville. Virginia is survived by two children, Patricia Tracy of Meadville and Raymond McElhaney of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Kimberly Tracy of Meadville, and David Weatherby and his wife, Lukay, of Meadville; and four great-grandchildren, Britt Tracy, Raeann Tracy, Brennan Tracy and Daven Weatherby. Of 13 brothers and sisters, Virginia is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Georgia Kuhn and her husband, Jerry, of Tucson, Ariz., Richard Kennedy and his wife, Marie, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Mary Chess and her husband, Carl, of Texas. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
