Virginia (Giny Kay) Plummer, 65, of Bully Hill Road, Franklin died at 1:27 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born April 11, 1946 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Glenroy and Virginia Graham Phillips. She was married to Norman L. Plummer at the Christ United Methodist Church on October 9, 1965. He survives. Mrs. Plummer worked for the Visiting Nurses Association Home Care Program in the 1970s and 1980s, she was an Avon Representative, and worked various jobs following her husband in his military career. She was also very active in the Military Family Support Groups in both Oklahoma and Ohio. Virginia enjoyed playing bingo, building puzzles, and painting. She also loved reading poetry, her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her children, Norman L. Plummer, II of Tampas, Texas and Ginger L. Connor and her husband, Marc R. of Polk; four grandchildren, Matthew L. Plummer, Sr. and his fiancee, Santana Craig of Oil City, Lisa E. Plummer and her husband, Alan Ritchey of Franklin, Samantha N. Connor of Polk, and Tessa R. Connor of Polk; and two great-grandsons, Matthew L. Plummer, Jr. of Oil City and Chance J. Ritchey of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Linda Deeter, Chaplain of The Caring Place officiating. Interment will follow in Lupher Chapel Cemetery The family suggests memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.
