The Puccio Family
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victor L. Powell, who left us on January 10, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1954, in Corry, PA. He spent his life in Union City, where he built countless cherished memories with his family.
Victor was married to the love of his life, Audrey G. (Hinkson) Powell, for almost 50 wonderful years. He graduated from Union City High School in 1972 and went on to work at Cherry Hill before dedicating many years to the Corry Forge Company (formerly McInnes Steel), from where he retired in 2016. Following retirement, he checked off a bucket list dream by taking a two-week trip to Yellowstone National Park with his family-an adventure filled with love and laughter.
Family meant everything to Victor. He cherished every moment spent together, especially at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, farming, and turning logs into lumber. Victor had a knack for building deer stands, splitting firewood, and organizing 3D shoots at the Sparta Sportsman’s Club, where he was an active member. Friends and family will remember him for being a jack of all trades and his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
Victor leaves behind his loving wife, Audrey, and their three children: Shawn Powell (Sarah) of Phillipsport, New York; Marjorie Powell-Roldan (Edwin) of Trumbull, Connecticut; and Vicki Morris (Rodney) of Centerville. He will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren-Grace (fiancée Patrick), Leam, Lyna, and Caralea, and his three granddogs, Britt, Briar, and Fletch, whom he loved to spoil with treats. He is also survived by his brothers Max (Judith) and Blaine (Tammy), all of Union City.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16th, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance, located at 2 Dowman Street, Union City. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7:00 pm at the same location. Victor will be laid to rest in a private burial at Brooks Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Sparta Sportsman’s Club. Please send contributions to Chris Sutherland at 22512 Route 89, Corry, PA 16407, making checks payable to “Sparta Sportsman’s Club.”
Victor’s warm spirit and love for his family will forever be remembered.
