Vallie L. Pifer Heller Vallie L. Pifer Heller, 71, of Fox Street, Franklin, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Saturday, September 1 at The Caring Place, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born September 5, 1940 in Rural Valley, Pa, Vallie was the daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn M. Trayer Pifer, and the step-daughter of Cecil Nelson. She was married to Harry T. Heller on April 6, 1962, and he survives. Vallie worked for the Grandview Health Care Center, Beverly Health Care, and the Golden Living Center as a Dietary Aide. She was a member of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and doing seek-a-word puzzles. Vallie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many activities and sporting events. In addition to her husband, Vallie is survived by her son, Timothy Heller and his wife, Cynthia; and her daughter, Kelly Heller; and her grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, and Tyler, all of Rocky Grove. She is also survived by her sisters-in law, Pearl Schneider of Erie, Ruby Stiver and her husband, Lou, of Polk, Charlotte Tenney and Carol Oilkrue, both of Oil City, and Sharon Heller of Seneca. Vallie was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Cecil Nelson; her sister, Constance Pifer; her brothers-in law, William Heller, Clair Heller, and Albert Tenney; and her in-laws, Harry E. and Mabel Heller. Family and friends of Vallie will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, September 5 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Small, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin YMCA Swim Team 111 West Park Street, Franklin, PA 16323 ; the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church 160 Atlantic Avenue, Franklin, PA, 16323 and/or the Rocky Grove High School Athletic Booster Club 403 Rocky Grove Avenue, Franklin, PA 16323.
