Twila Hovis, 78, entered into rest Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008. Mrs. Hovis was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Franklin. She was a member of Fox Street Church of God and attended Central Baptist Church. Cherishing her memory are daughters, Sandra McCandless of Warner Robins, Ga., Barbara Gooding of Beaufort, S.C., Kathie Wolford (Bud) of Franklin and Karin Updyke (Jim) of Franklin; a son, Ronald Hovis of Knox; brothers, Lloyd Sutley and Bob Sutley of Franklin; sisters, Delores Christy of Sandy Lake, Dorothy Dehoff of Kingston, N.Y., Marge Orr of Sugarcreek; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, William Dan Hovis; parents, Elmer Dewey Sutley and Dessie Heffernan Sutley; brothers, Wilbur Sutley and Paul Sutley; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Deckards Run Cemetery in Carlton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3715 Northside Parkway, Bldg. 400, Atlanta, Ga. 30327 or to the American Heart Association, 3312 Northside Drive, Suite 140-A, Macon, Ga. 31210-0429.
