Born in: Franklin, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Franklin, Pennsylvania

Traci Renee Moon, of Franklin, passed away surrounded by family at The Caring Place on December 29, 2024. She bravely fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and is now at peace.

Born in Franklin on September 13, 1968, Traci was the beloved daughter of Kenneth Shull and Esther Shull.

She graduated from Rocky Grove Jr./Sr. High School in 1986. Traci attended Slippery Rock University where she studied psychology. After college, Traci worked in management roles at Big Lots and Shop ‘N Save in Franklin.

On October 29, 1992, she married the absolute love of her life, Kevin Moon, and they lived in Cooperstown then in Franklin, PA. Traci was a woman of many passions and had the kindest heart. She had a deep love for animals and couldn’t leave the Humane Society without wanting to take them all home. Traci also was a beautiful singer and loved singing Stevie Nicks or anything 80’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing putt-putt golf with her husband and daughter. Family gatherings were always entertaining with her quick wit and infectious laugh.

She found joy in the little things – spending Saturday’s cleaning while watching the cheesiest movies on the Sci-Fi channel, girl’s breakfasts with her daughter, mother, and sister and going on day trips with her husband.

Traci is survived by her husband, Kevin Moon of Franklin; her daughter Taylor Meyer and her husband, Michael, of Cooperstown; her father, Kenneth Shull of Franklin and her mother Esther Shull of Franklin; her sister Melissa Spence and her husband, John, of Cooperstown. Also surviving are her mother-in-law Ruby Stiver and her husband, Lou, of Polk; her sisters-in-law Cindy Kober of South Carolina, Carrie Wright and her husband, Trevor, of Cranberry; her brothers-in-law Robert Moon and his wife, Pam, of Polk and Rusty Moon and his wife, Connie, of Cooperstown; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and former coworkers.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Alfred and Elsie Shull; her maternal grandparents William Best and Jane Ramsey (Raisin); and her father-in-law Robert Moon and his wife, Erma Palmer.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Guests will be received on Friday, January 10th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.  A celebration of Traci’s life will be held the same day at the funeral home at 5:00 pm with Pastor David McVay, pastor of Worden Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our deepest and sincere condolences to all of Traci’s family, they have been thru a lot. Traci fought a hard battle and now she is at peace. Whenever I saw Traci she was always smiling and so easy to talk to. She loved her family deeply. Traci’s entire family will be in our thoughts & prayers. 🙏🏻🌈♥️

  2. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.” Rumi

  3. Traci was one of my best friends in school we met in elementary school school and graduated together. We lost touch through the years. We spent a lot of time running around Cooperstown together with the old gang of kids we had so much fun! Our time together wasn’t a lifetime but it was some of the best times of my life. My deepest sympathy to all who love her.She was definitely someone you never forget. She could turn a bad day into the best day. I’m so happy to have known her.

  4. I’ll always remember Traci when she would come into the Franklin Hospital to pick up Esther from work at the end of the day. She was always happy and put a smile on all our faces, and what a sense of humor she possessed. So sorry for your loss Esther and family.

  5. I was saddened to read about Traci’s illness and passing. I remember Traci from her days at Rocky Grove High School… she was a hard-working student who was friendly, kind, caring, and thoughtful. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family at this sad and difficult time. Wishing you comfort and peace as you remember the happy times you shared…

  6. My deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers go out to Traci’s family and all whose life she’s touched! She was a very sweet uplifting friend that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing through highschool and reconnecting at our employment at Polk Center. May all the good memories comfort those closest to her!

  7. Kevin, Words can’t express! When I met Tracy at your dad’s funeral she was like a ray of sunshine in the room. People were drawn to her. She was laughing and telling stories about your dad. I told her how we both connected that not only was my husband was your cousin but that we worked together. She was sweet and kind and loved you very very much.

  8. Traci was one of my best friends throughout elementary and high school. As goes when we get older we lost touch, but still when we crossed paths the love, memories and smiles were right there. Traci was one of a kind, she stood with you when most would turn the other way. Kevin, Ester, Melissa, Carrie and family you guys have my DEEPEST sympathy. She will never be forgotten with all the memories she made. Fly high my friend until we meet again.
Love and prayers, Brenda (Fike) McCool

  9. I remember working with Traci at Seneca Medical Center. May you rest in peace and Kevin find peace in knowing that she is at rest. ~ Pam

  10. Traci was like a sister to me during our high school years. I pretty much lived at her house for 2-3 years. I can honestly say that I would not be the person I am today if I’d have never known her. She was always ready for an adventure, and we had many! When bad things happened, Traci would bounce back with a plan and a smile. My deepest sympathy for her family. The last couple years have been a hard road. Through it all though, Traci never lost her genuine love for her family or her smile. The world lost a beautiful voice and a beautiful smile, but the echos of Traci’s life will last for generations.

  11. Heartfelt condolences to Kevin, Taylor, Esther, Melissa and all of those who are experiencing the void that Traci’s passing has left. Traci and I shared some of the best years of my life together. She was a ray of sunshine wherever she was. Always smiling and a huge heart. She was like a sister to me. She was my best friend. Our senior year in high school and for a time thereafter, we were inseparable. We had many adventures and made lots of memories. I will carry them with me always.

Thank you Kevin for being such a loving, devoted husband to her. The two of you were true soul mates. Find peace in knowing she is now whole again and will watch over you always.
