Resided in: Union City, Pennsylvania

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas G. Courson, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on August 13, 1958, in Meadville, PA, a son of James and Hazel Masters Courson, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for his family and community.

A proud member of the Union City High School Class of 1976, Thomas embarked on his professional journey as a machinist at Snap-Tite/Parker Hannefin, where he devoted many years to the manufacturing industry. His work ethic and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

On August 16, 1980, Thomas married his beloved Brenda M. Nelson, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. He was a proud father to his daughter, Amy Courson, and her companion, Joseph Cunningham of Waterford; and his two sons, Brad Courson and his wife, Sara of Texas, and Jason Wettekin and his wife, Rachel of Erie. Thomas found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren, Addison and Ryan Courson, who brought endless delight to his life.

Thomas was a lifelong member of the Union City Moose Club, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and fellow members. A passionate coin collector, he took great pride in his extensive collection, often sharing his treasures with those he loved. His contagious smile and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Brenda; his children; two sisters, Barb Yarber and her companion, Allen of Florida, and Diane Sanden and her husband, Gary of Union City; three sisters-in-law, Barb Woodard and her husband, Michael of Tennessee, and Diane of Erie; three brothers-in-law, Gary Nelson of Florida, Ray Nelson and his wife, Sue of Corry, and Ray Fenton of Pleasantville; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Fenton; and three brothers, James, William, and David Courson.

Reflecting on his life, we remember Thomas as a beacon of kindness and strength. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 S. Main Street, Union City. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring his memory and sharing in the stories that defined his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Thomas’s honor to the Union City Ambulance, located at 50 2nd Avenue, Union City, Pennsylvania 16438, to continue the spirit of service that he valued so deeply.

As we gather to celebrate Thomas’s life, may we carry forward his legacy of love and kindness, cherishing the memories we hold dear.
