Terry L. Baughman

Terry L. Baughman, Sr., 64, of Elm Street, Franklin died on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Andover Retirement Village in Andover, Ohio after his long courageous battle with diabetes and cancer. Born June 16, 1948 in Franklin, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin C. and Mamie McCleery Baughman. Terry attended Franklin area schools. He was a Vietnam War Era Veteran, serving four years in the United States Navy with tours in Vietnam, Spain, France, Greece, Italy and Malto, and the Caribbean. He was employed as a machinist for the Joy Manufacturing Company and worked in the maintenance department at the Franklin Northwest Medical Center until his health required him to retire in 1999. When his health permitted, he loved to fish, hunt, and golf. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and was thrilled they won the 2011 World Series. He was also a collector of many things. Terry was married on October 17, 1970 to the former Cheryl Rice, who survives. Also surviving is his son, Terry (TJ) Baughman, Jr. of Franklin; two daughters, Tara Baughman of Franklin and Chama Renninger and her husband, Will of Franklin; two sisters, Karen L. Bingman of Franklin and Nancy Burk and her husband, David of Franklin; sister-in-law, Erin Baughman of Franklin; his grandson, Isaac Renninger of Franklin; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his three brothers, Melvin R. Baughman, Michael A. Baughman, and Kevin M. Baughman. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Clulow of the Cochranton Community Church officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will take place in Franklin Cemetery.
