Teresa Lee (McCarty) Ferringer, 64, of Cooperstown, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at UPMC Northwest after a courageous fight following a long period of declining health.
Teresa was born on January 4, 1962, in Cooperstown to the late Delmar and Helen (Burk) McCarty. She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1979 and was a proud, multi-generational member of the Cooperstown community.
On August 24, 1991, she married Edward R. Ferringer, with whom she shared 34 wonderful years of marriage.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Brandy McKinney, and her sister, Vicky Buckley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ed; her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, Amy, Elliott, and Wyatt Cure; granddaughter, Blakely McKinney, and family; her stepdaughter, Heather (Ferringer) Freeman, and family; her close friends, Diane Kimber and family, Lisa Aaron and family, and Tracy and Dom Camerota and family; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who held a special place in her heart.
Teresa worked numerous jobs throughout the area over the years until her health no longer permitted her to work. Even in her declining health, she always found joy in the simple things in life, like playing cards, bird watching, working on puzzle books, and spending time with her friends and family.
Above all, Teresa was a kind, loving, and genuine person who cherished being a mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
In accordance with Teresa’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. The family will instead gather for a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements for Teresa are in the care of Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
In lieu of memorial contributions, the family asks that donations be made in Teresa’s memory to the Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 186 Cooperstown, PA 16314.
