It is with deep sorrow that the family of Shirley Ann Riddle Hope announces her passing at the age of 88. Shirley was born on December 2, 1935, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, and peacefully departed on October 20, 2024, at Meadville Medical Center.
Shirley was the cherished daughter of the late Lucille Riddle. She was a proud graduate of Meadville High School and went on to attend Edinboro University. On December 10, 1960, Shirley married the love of her life, Robert W. Hope, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2015. Shirley dedicated herself to a career as a Medical Secretary in various doctor’s offices throughout the Meadville area.
Devoted to her faith, Shirley was a member of Saint Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church and actively engaged in the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary. Her charitable spirit extended to her volunteer work with Helping Hands. In her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping, watching sports, particularly cheering for the Cubs, and engaging in ceramics and crafts.
Shirley is survived by her loving sons, Gregory Scott Hope (Susan) of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Gary David Hope (Connie) of Venango, Pennsylvania, and Mark James Hope of Meadville, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, her brother Donald Riddle (Jeannette) of Ohio, and preceded in death by her husband, mother, stepfather James, and nephew Robert Barickman.
The family will receive guests for calling hours on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 10:00 am at Saint Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, 26012 North Frenchtown Road, officiated by Father Jeffrey Lucas. Following the service, Shirley will be laid to rest at Saint Hippolyte Cemetery.

Sympathy to all of Shirley’s family. I have many memories of Shirley when she came to our house. She and my sister Shirley McKinney Hart were good friends. Through the years seen her at different events, was always good to see her and visit. She was always a lot of fun when she was around. Thoughts and prayers with all of you.
To all of the Hope family please accept our sincere sympathy from Denny & Leslie Wolff

Hey Guys
So sorry to hear of the death of you Mom. I lived across the street from her when she was a freshman in high school. Knew her socially for many years. She was a lot of fun. She was a wonderful woman.
