Shirley A. McChesney, 72, of 1220 Chestnut Street, Apt. 402, Franklin, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:55 am at Sugar Creek Station. Born December 17, 1937 in Franklin, PA, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth E. Daniels Doutt. Shirley was the retired Assistant Manager of the Idlewood Motel. She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed bingo, cross stitch, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, James B. Rodgers, Jr. of Franklin; her daughter, Brenda E. Larimore of Franklin; two stepsons, Timothy Engles and his wife, Joann of Franklin and Kenneth Engles and his wife, Vicky of Cooperstown; two grandchildren, Misty A. Larimore and Patty L. Larimore, both of Franklin; her great granddaughter, Renee E. Larimore of Franklin; six step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by a brother, David B. Doutt and his wife, Johnine of Houston, TX; her sister, Dora M. Wagner of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Sechler and Marie Ditzenberger-Snyder; four brothers, Leonard Doutt, Eugene Doutt, Paul Doutt, and LeRoy Doutt; a daughter, Cindy Rodgers; and her special friend and companion, Philip Engles, who preceded her in death in 1998. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, from 9-11 am. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Small of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church presiding. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
