Shawn M. McClelland Jr., 22, of Union City, tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on April 9, 2026. He was born on June 12, 2003, in Erie, Pennsylvania, and quickly grew to be a beloved presence in his community.

A proud 2021 graduate of Seneca High School, Shawn was known for his involvement in wrestling and ROTC, where he achieved the rank of E3. After graduating, he found fulfillment in his role as a mechanic at Pro Waste, where his passion for fixing things shone through working along side his dad. Shawn had a big heart and an infectious smile that could light up any room.

He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or riding his motorcycle and side-by-side with friends and family. He had an adventurous spirit and always kept busy, often lending a hand to anyone who needed help with anything broken. His love for his family, especially his siblings, was evident to all who knew him, and he cherished moments spent with children.

Shawn is survived by his father, Shawn M. McClelland Sr. (Karie) of Union City; his mother, Lisa M. Smiley of Union City; his companion, Emily Smith and her children, Cooper and Parker Ayer’s all of Wattsburg; his sisters, Brittany Krone (Adam St. Onge) of Saegertown, Breanna McClelland (Timmy Applequist), Angel McClelland, and Annie McClelland, all of Union City; his brothers, Austin Krone (Natalie Boyce) of Waterford and Jesse McClelland of Union City; his grandparents, Mark and Deb Greenawalt, Donna and Michael Majba, Beth Stroup, and Luella Kohler; his great-grandma Linda Majba of Union City; his best friend “Wifey,” James Kerstetter of Wattsburg; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert McClelland Sr., James and Ruth Greenawalt, Ron Stroup, Marjorie Hawley, and Rosalee and Warren Fahey; uncles Brian McClelland Sr., and Dale Murdock; and cousin Robert McClelland III.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Shawn’s life during visitation on Tuesday, April 14th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 62 S. Main Street, Union City. An additional hour of calling will take place on Wednesday, April 15th, starting at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Blair Blakeslee. Shawn will be laid to rest in McCray Cemetery.

  14. I knew Shawn from teaching at Wattsburg many years ago when he was in elementary school. His smile was always the first thing to enter the room and it was so welcomed. He was such a sweet and kind young man and I will always remember his light. Rest in peace, Shawn. May your family and friends be surrounded in love and comforting memories.

He really did brighten up a room with that smile. He and his dad made such a great team in the garage. A very hard-working team. I hope he knew how much I appreciated every time he helped me out at work. I am going to miss seeing him and his smile at work. He really made my day.
