Sandra Zinz, 64, of West Ridge Road, Erie, died at 7:44 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at her residence. Born April 19, 1947 at her home in Franklin, she was the daughter of Ralph and Janet Moore Karns. Sandra was a graduate of Townville High School and attended Alliance College where she received an Associate's Degree in Drafting. She worked as a cashier for Value City Department Store until her retirement. Sandra was a member of the Erie Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her mother Janet Karns of Bradleytown; her sons, William B. Zinz and his wife, Jennifer of Lake City, PA and Edward A. Zinz of Meadville; step-son, Michael C. Zinz of Greenville; two daughters, Donna Melton of Oil City and Sonya Baker and her husband, David of Polk; her brother, Nathan Moore and his wife, Polly of Plant City, FL; and three sisters, Sherry Duplichain her husband, Milton of Pearl, MS, Debra Karns of Bradleytown, and Delora Karns of Bradleytown. Sandra is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Kara Schmidt and her husband, Albert of Franklin, Philip Zinz of Greenville, Aaron Zinz of Camp LeJuene, NC, G. Adrian Melton of Oil City, Greta Melton of Oil City, Tyler Ream of Camp LeJuene, NC, Danica Zinz of Greenville, Jerod Zinz of Meadville, and Ashley, Abbey, and Annie Zinz, all of Lake City, PA; and three great-grandchildren, Reily-Kalyn and Zoe Kaster of Franklin, and Lukas Schmidt of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Karns and her granddaughter, Kalyn Kaster. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Cooperstown Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the family in care of Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc.
