On August 5, 1960, she married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” B. Ruthie was a devout Christian and was a member of the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church for a few years and then a member of the Cooperstown United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Franklin YMCA.

She enjoyed coaching girls softball while her daughter’s played, was on the women’s golf league at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, and on the women’s bowling league at Franklin Bowling Lanes. Her passion and dedication to the Cooperstown community was immeasurable.

She also enjoyed visits from her nephew Don Boughner and his wife, Ilene, of Indiana, PA during the summers where they would catch up and chit chat for hours and spending time with the “girls” camping at Canandohta Lake. Most of all, her family was her life and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Leanne M. Prichard and her husband, Tom, of Franklin and Lauren “Laurie” S. Osgood of Cooperstown; her daughter-in-law, Denise Boughner of Cooperstown; her grandchildren John M. Prichard and his wife, Cara, of Alabama, Tiffany M. Mitcham and her husband, David, of Franklin, and Carly M. Boughner of Franklin; her great grandchildren Kamdin M. Mitcham and Kinslee M. Mitcham both of Franklin; her sister Beth C. Gordon of Franklin; and her sisters-in-law Janet Boughner and Cynthia Boughner both of Cooperstown.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ruthie was preceded in death by her son, Gerald B. Boughner, Jr.; her son-in-law, Stephen D. Osgood; her brother Timothy L. Carson; her parents-in-law Emery and Edna Boughner; her brothers-in-law Robert (Eileen) Boughner, Gene (Dolores) Boughner, Wesley Boughner, Richard (Betty) Boughner, Byron Boughner; her sister-in-law Bevery (Howard) Potter; her nieces Tamera Boughner, Michelle (Robert) Greenlee, Judy Boughner, and Joni Sausman; and her nephew Donald Boughner.
