Rose M. Swan, 84, of Union City, passed away, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1938 in Erie, Pennsylvania a daughter of John Carniewski and Beatrice Hayes Carniewski. She married James Swan, he preceded her in death on October 5, 2010. She was a high school graduate and was self-employed doing cleaning services in the Union City area. Rose was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene. She loved eating pizza, watching golf, playing cards, bingo, word puzzles, and reading her bible. Rose is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Kelsey of Union City and Lori A. Metzgar of Union City; a son, David L. Bailey and his companion Tina Burroughs of Erie; eleven grandchildren including Terry Bailey; twenty great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Middleton of Union City, Patricia Kimmy of Union City, and Christine "Bev" Huhs of Kansas; and two brothers, Louis Carniewski and his wife Elaine of Ohio and Julius "Butch" Carniewski and his wife Diane of Union City. In addition to her husband, James; she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Bailey; a daughter, Karen (Bailey) Kelsey; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bailey; brothers, James Carniewski and John "Sonny" Carniewski; sisters, Florence McWilliams, Mary Odem, and Catherine Carniewski. Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday, June 23rd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 62 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am on Saturday, June 24th with Pastor George Tutor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery of Beaverdam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rose's memory to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org.
