Ronald John Zomcik

Ronald Zomcik, age 55, passed away on August 18, 2016 at his home at Polk Center. Ronald was born on October 24, 1960 at Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA. He resided at his home at Polk Center, surrounded by friends and loved ones, for the past 52 years. Although Ronald had a history of health issues, his death was quite sudden and unexpected. His family at Polk Center will miss his pleasant personality, beautiful hazel eyes, and infectious smile. He enjoyed music and community activities. His favorite thing to do was simply to interact with staff members, who are more like his family. He loved to just sit and listen to staff members talk or read to him. Ronald will be sadly missed by his entire family; but, perhaps most of all, he will be missed by Tonia Smith, a staff member at Polk Center, who developed a very special relationship with Ronald. Tonia cared deeply for Ronald, which was evident in her tireless efforts to make each day of his life as good as it could possibly be.Ronald’s viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24th, at 10:30 with the service at 11 at Gardinier Funeral Home, which is located at 1315 Chestnut St. Franklin, Pennsylvania 16323. A Memorial Service will be held at Polk Center, Woodside Building, at 2:45 pm on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016, to celebrate Ronald’s life.
