Roman “Ronnie” Bem, Jr., 76 of Union City, passed away, Monday December 23, 2024 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on March 31, 1948, a son of Roman Bem, Sr. and Phyllis Szczesny Bem. He married Linda Brumagin Bem on November 13, 1971. She preceded him in passing on July 21, 2020.
He was a 1966 graduate of Union City High School and attended Erie Business College for Business Administration. He served with the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He took pride in owning and operating a dairy farm while also working at GE for over 30 years.
In addition to farming, he enjoyed hunting, dirt track racing, taking rides on his side by side, and spending time with his family and friends.
Roman is survived by his son, Ryan Bem and his wife, Rhonda; two daughters, Kristin Bem, and Megan Zielinski and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, Ryan Jr., Connor, and Alara Bem, Cheyenne, Savannah, and Austin Cummings, Allison and Grace Zielinski; a sister, Ann Marie Bem, and a brother, Michael Bem; many nieces, nephews, and his four legged companion, Scottie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda; two children, Stephen Reed Bem, and an unnamed child; and his sister, Sherry Davis.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday, December 27th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 28th at 12:00 pm at Saint Teresa of Avila, 9 3rd Street, Union City, with Father Thomas J. Whitman, as celebrant.
Roman will be laid to rest at Saint Teresa Cemetery, Union City.
Memorial donations may be made in Roman’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
