Rocco R. Valentinetti, 71, of 9922 Franklin Pike, Meadville, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., on March 5, 1938, he was a son of Anthony and Agnes Anelli Valentinetti. He married Henrietta Flanagan on Feb. 3, 1962.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict, and was owner of Val's Music and Gifts.
He enjoyed buying and selling merchandise, playing poker and spending time with friends at the Sertoma Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 111, the Italian Civic Club and the Meadville Sertoma Club.
He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Henrietta Valentinetti of Meadville; a son, Anthony Valentinetti and his wife, Bernadette, of Meadville; two grandchildren, Markus Valentinetti and Emily Greenawalt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Valentinetti; and his parents.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Father Richard Toohey of St. Mary of Grace Church officiating. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will conduct a military service following the funeral.
Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
