Robert Lawrence Tidd, 88, of Franklin passed away on June 28, 2024 at the Caring Place with his family at his side.

Born in Franklin on March 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Lawrence Emmett and Sara Elthea (Eicholtz) Tidd.

Robert was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Robert loved spending time outdoors gardening, riding his motorcycle, taking his boat down the Allegheny river, fishing and hunting. He loved listening to music as long as it had a beat!

He was a kind and generous man who helped anyone in need. He had a warm smile and an infectious laugh. He loved his family, friends and pets.

On November 15, 1957, he married the love of his life, the former Patricia L. Hogue. They spent 66 years together.

Robert retired from Pennzoil where he worked in the warehouse for many years.

Robert was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses with the Franklin Congregation.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Robert Craig Tidd and his wife, Terry, of Florida, Julie Rhome, of Franklin, and Michelle Thompson of Franklin. One brother Paul Tidd and his wife Nancy. Two sisters Mary Lou Hughes, Nancy Reese and her husband Jim. Grandchildren, Kyla Zischkau, Bethany Rhome, Izaac Rhome, Jacob Rhome, Jordan Thompson, Lucas Thompson. Great grandchildren Ainsley, Hayden, Sebastian, Caidence, Trey and Elijah. Great-great grandchildren, Arabella and Dawson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Clover Anne Rhome and great-great grandson Oliver Lee Lawrence Grove.

In following with Robert’s wishes, no public services will be observed at this time and arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
