Robert L. Brakeman Robert L. Brakeman, 69, of Keely Road, Franklin, passed away on Thursday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Born January 16, 1942, in Franklin, Robert was the son of the late LeRoy Clayton and Emma Josephine Paxton Brakeman. He was married to Margaret (Peg) Anderson on August 6, 2002, and she survives. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran having served during Peacetime. His last duty assignment before his Honorable Discharge was aboard the USS Lloyd Thomas. He worked for Ward Trucking for over 40 years as a truck driver before his retirement in 2002. Robert was a member of the Franklin Moose #83. He became enrolled April 23, 1979, and became a member of the Legion April 18, 2004. He obtained his Fellowship Degree of Honor May 29, 2006, and became a member of the 25 Club January 28, 2006. He was also a 50 Division Member. Robert served as governor of Moose #83 from 2006 to 2007. He served as Legion President in 2008 and served in District Chairs as President in 2010. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davison motorcycle and fishing. He loved his two pets, "Harley", his St. Bernard, and "Elmo", his cat. Robert especially enjoyed the times spent with his family. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his son, Brad Miller, of Oil City, and his fiancee', Heather Reed; and his daughters, Cathi Jo Harbaugh and her husband, Garrett, of Polk, and Billie Jo Vidovich and her husband, Stephen, of Franklin. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Jaiden Carson and Kyle Vidovich, of Franklin, Zachary Harbaugh of Polk, and Rylee Reed of Oil City. He is additionally survived by his special friends, Richard Brady and Janet Kistler of Franklin, and Bob and Lauri Harrah of Oil City. Friends and family of Robert will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Sunday, May 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, May 2 at 11 a.m., with Deacon Walt Jones, UPMC Pastor, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
