Rita G. Haylett, 91, of Cussewago Road, Meadville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.Born in Meadville July 3, 1917, she was a daughter of Fred G. and Elsie D. Fiscus King. On January 26, 1940, she married Robert B. Haylett; he preceded her in death.She was a lifetime member of St. Brigid Church, having been baptized in July 1917.She was the last living member of her family.She was a 1937 graduate of Meadville High School.She had been employed as the head clerk for Loblaws, then worked at Ballinger Drug and Jack's Drug Store, and was a bookkeeper at the Crawford Store.She was a member of the 55-Plus Club.She enjoyed bowling and swimming.Survivors include two sons, R. James Haylett and his wife, Judith, of Conneaut Lake and Daniel Joseph Haylett of Meadville; one daughter, Christine McNany and her husband, D. Michael, of Franklin; six grandchildren, Cindy Bookamer of Franklin, Steve Haylett and his wife, Heather, of Conneaut Lake, Kevin Haylett and his wife, Renee, of Conneautville, Wendy Rolnick and her husband, David, of Cleveland, Heather McGowen and her companion, David Campbell, of Eau Claire and Sarah Morrow and her husband, Curtis, of Franklin; six great-grandchildren, Samantha Bookamer, Branden Haylett, Ashley Haylett, Benjamin Haylett, Lauren Haylett and Noah Morrow; and several loving nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph King, Loyal King, Richard King and Robert King; two sisters, Mary Hubbard and her husband, Harold, and Donna Chapin and her husband, Robert; one daughter, Elsie (Haylett) Mounin; and one sister-in-law, Louise Bedick and her husband, John.Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. A vigil prayer service is at 3:30 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, with Fr. Rocco A. Tito as Celebrant.Burial will be in St. Agatha Cemetery, West Mead Township.The family suggests memorials be made to St. Brigid and/or Our Lady Queen of Americas churches.
