You will be missed. I have memories for over 50 years of you being a great uncle and friend. You will always be in our hearts and mind. From day one you made a great impression on my wonderful wife you made her feel loved and welcomed to the family we both will miss you so much. It hurts that you’re gone but to a better place.
Richard Lee Watkins, 87, of Saegertown, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 5, 2026. Born on September 20, 1938, in Tidioute, Pennsylvania, Richard was the son of Merle R. Watkins and Bessie K. Adams Watkins.
Growing up, Richard had a knack for all things hands-on, which led him to work in the manufacturing sector. He was employed at Vallonia Industries and Talon until its closure. After that, he spent an impressive 30 years at Channellock, Inc. until his retirement.
In his downtime, you could often find Richard fishing, tinkering with electronics, or cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers. He adored his dogs, Sasha and Prince, and cherished the time spent hanging out with his buddy Eddie. Family was everything to him, and he especially loved making memories with his nieces and nephews.
Richard is survived by his nephew, Bill Holcombe, and his wife, Tricia, and his great nephews and niece, Justin, Nathan, and MaKenna, who all took a major role in caring for him in his final years. He also leaves behind; his sister, Anna May Rossey; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. He reunited with his parents and several siblings: Laura Richmond, Glen Watkins, John Watkins, Marie Holcombe, Merle Watkins, Raymond Watkins, Ronald Watkins, and Robert Watkins.
A private burial will take place at Venango Cemetery.
