OBITUARY - RAYMOND ROBERT BEACH Raymond Robert Beach, 67 years old, of Maple Lane Drive, Cooperstown, passed away at 10:40 A.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mr. Beach was born on October 18, 1941 to Walter and Jane (Hexamer) Beach in Franklin, PA. He was retired from Joy Manufacturing Co., where he was employed for 43 years as a final assemblyman. He was married on August 3, 1962 to Jane Houser in the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church. They are the parents of two children: Dirk S. Beach of West Columbia, SC and Gretchen R. Beach of Clarksburg, WV. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Logan R. Beach of Cooperstown, PA; Bredin N. and Alex F. Beach of Rockland, PA; and Mariana R. Delgado of Clarksburg, WV. Mr. Beach previously served his community as Mayor of the Borough, was a member of the Valley Grove School Board, and was an active volunteer at the Cooperstown Public Library. He was a member of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed collecting coins and refinishing antique furniture. In the summer, he enjoyed spending time on his deck. He is survived by the following siblings: Shirley Ford of Cranberry, Nancy Hook, James Beach, Kenneth Beach and Michael Beach, all of Franklin, and Mary Lou Beach of Meadville. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John, Walter, and Charles Beach. A "Celebration of his Life" will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Rachel Johns and the Rev. Marc de Jeu presiding. Interment will take place in the Cooperstown Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be sent to the Cooperstown Public Library in memory of Raymond Beach.
