Raymond R. Smith

Raymond R. Smith, Jr., 64, of Wattsburg, passed away, Saturday, August 31, 2024 after a time of illness. He was born on October 4, 1959 in Erie, Pennsylvania a son of Raymond R. Smith, Sr., and Irene L. Davis Smith.
He was a 1977 graduate of Seneca High School and was employed for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator with ACA Sand and Gravel and Niemeyers.
Ray enjoyed smoking meats, hunting, working with his great nephews, spending time in his garage, working around his home, and winning every football bet he ever made with his brother in law, John. He will be remembered for good conversation, making jokes, and giving everyone he loved a nickname.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Smith of Wattsburg; a daughter, Stephanie Grain of Zumi, Virginia; a son, Barry Smith of Chase City, Virginia; four granddaughters, Destiny Grain, Raven, Victoria, and Samantha Smith; two sisters, Peggy Weed of Corry and Coleen Walls and her husband John of Corry; two brothers, Danny and Walter Smith both of Union City; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and many special friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond R. Smith, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Frances Davis; and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Francis Smith.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, September 5th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm.
Private burial will take place at a later date.

Q: How did you meet Raymond?
A: We were COUNTRY neighbors LOL He used to pick on me every time our families got together we would make spaghetti noodles together and he would make fun of me and my sister and his sisters when we danced in the front yard to The Bee Gees !!!
Ray and I were friends for life. I have always and will continue to cherish the crazy times we had together. He will be sadly missed by all. PT
