Raymond L. Sanford Sr., 66, of 316 Allenbaugh Road ,Franklin passed away at 5:45 PM ,April 15, 2013 at The Caring Place. Born May 3, 1946 in Kittaning, PA, Raymond was the son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Anderson) Sanford. On October 26, he married Lola Shoffstall, who preceded him in death. Mr. Sanford was employed as a truck driver for several different trucking companies. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his son Raymond L. Sanford Jr. and his wife, Dianna, of Franklin; his brothers, Robert K. Sanford of Richmond, VA, Thomas W. Sanford and his wife, Mabel, of Mercer, Clarence Mike M. Sanford Jr. of Richmond, VA, and Fred Coast of Franklin; and his sisters, Catherine E. Gibbs and her husband, Lester, of York, PA, and Linda K. Lewis and her husband, Jerry, of Mercer. He is additionally survived by his grandchildren, Edward R. Sanford, Marcus Q. Sanford, Brandon M. Sanford, Daniel B. Sanford, and Troy A. Sanford all of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his brother, Terry L. Sanford; and his sisters, Alice Jane Sanford and Audrey Joan Sanford. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, April 18th, 2013, from 2:00PM - 4:00PM. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Rusnak, Chaplin of Ascera Care, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
