Raymond John Loesch, 82, of Union City, PA, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 8, 1942, in Erie, PA, Ray was the beloved son of the late Geraldine and Raymond Loesch. Ray graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1960 and went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he started and maintained a successful career as a car and industrial supply salesman.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kelsey Loesch, and his cherished children: Steve (Marissa) Schriefer, Lisa Gorman, Kevin (Bonni) Williams, and Dana (Crisi) Williams. He leaves behind his siblings: Mary Dee Andrae (Jamestown, PA), Thomas Loesch (Sally, Dunedin, FL), Gerald Loesch (Peggy, Jacksonville, FL), Nadine Tarbell (Erie, PA), and Brian Loesch (Betsy, Clearwater, FL) and grandchildren: Ashley Busch, Adrien Schriefer, Zack Gorman, Skylar Gorman, Brittany Lombardozzi, Kenzie Williams, Bailey Williams, Carson Williams, and Ozzie Williams. Ray was also a great-grandfather of nine. He was preceded in death by his siblings Terrance, Cynthia, and Kathleen Loesch.
Ray left an unforgettable mark on all who met him, with his unique humor, charm, and personality. His love for his grandchildren was boundless, and they were a source of immense pride and joy for him. He had an enduring passion for riding motorcycles, taking pictures, and rooting for Cleveland sports teams. He had a well-known disdain for cheese, politicians, and cold weather, but found solace in good vodka, cigarettes, and afternoon naps.
Ray is now at rest, free from the cares of this world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadohta Lake Historical Society.

Ray was one of a kind; he was warm and friendly and very out-going with anyone, even total strangers. I worked with Ray at Lake Erie Pipe & Supply a bunch of years ago, & then PBI. My wife, Elaine , & I traveled to Scotland and England with Ray and Kelcey on a wonderful trip. The trip grew out of a conversation over a couple of drinks. Ray was telling me about going to England/Scotland for a wedding. Then he said “Hey why don’t you and Elaine go with us?? So we did and we had a great trip. On the West coast of Scotland he struck up a chat with a couple older local ladies. they were chatting like old friends. That was Ray! My life is richer for having known Ray.
