Phyllis E. Johnston Hutcheson Shaw Phyllis E. Johnston Hutcheson Shaw, formerly of Franklin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Sunday, May 15 at the Heritage Village in Gerry, New York, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Franklin, February 26, 1928, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Evelyn M. Davison Johnson. Phyllis formerly resided at 1220 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA. She retired in 1990 from Polk Center after having worked there as a R.S.A. for more than 20 years. She was a long-time member of the Franklin Free Methodist Church and enjoyed reaching out to others through card ministry. She also enjoyed crocheting. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her children, Kathleen Hutcheson Hodson of Waterford, Michael Shaw and his wife, Rita, of Clarion, and Jeff Shaw and Patti of Southern Clarion County; her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Helen Fritz, and Barbara Shreffler, both of Gerry, New York. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Hutcheson, her second husband, Karl A. Shaw, her son, James Hutcheson, her sister, Rosalee Johnston, and her dear brother-in-law, Wayne Shreffler. The family will be present to receive family and friends at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, May 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home, on Friday, May 20, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Sam Shreffler, Chaplain of Heritage Village, of Gerry, New York, and nephew of the deceased, officiating. Directly following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to follow and go to the Franklin Cemetery for a brief committal service.
