Peggy L. Ward Peggy L. Ward, 78, of State Route 427, Franklin, passed away at 9:45 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie. Born May 10, 1933, in Canal Township, Peggy was the daughter of the late William and Esther Heffern Maul. She was married to Roy E. Ward on July 19, 1952, and he survives. Peggy was a retired bus driver for Lepley's Bus Service. She was very active in the 4-H, especially with the Horse Program. She was also actively involved with the Girl Scouts for more than 25 years. In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by her son, Ricky L. Ward and his wife, Theresa, of Pittsboro, North Carolina; and her daughter, Rowena Ward of Franklin. She is also survived by her sister, Roberta Dunlap of Florida; her 2 grandchildren and her 4 great-grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William Maul, Jr., and Glenn Thompson Maul; her sister, Janice Gordon; and her daughter, Marlene Ward. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Ward and they will be privately held at the convenience of her family.
