Patricia Coleen Dodds Hagerty, 90, formerly of Erie, PA and Rocky Grove, beloved wife of Robert E. Hagerty, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11th, 2017 at her home with family at her bedside.Patricia was born December 27, 1926, daughter of the late Beth and John Q. Dodds of Rocky Grove. Patricia graduated Salutatorian, Class of 1945, Rocky Grove High School. Patricia married Robert E. Hagerty on May 6, 1948, following his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert preceded Patricia in death on August 21, 2010. Patricia was employed as a Secretarial Assistant at Joy Manufacturing, Billing Clerk for Printz’ Clothing Store (formerly located on Liberty Street) and as an Administrative Assistant at a Real Estate office in Erie, Pa. Her greatest pleasure was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her retirement, Patricia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, maintaining the family home in Erie, PA and traveling with husband Robert. Surviving are her three children and their spouses: David C. Hagerty and wife Louise of Great Barrington, MA; Ellen D. Hagerty and her life partner Arthur Anders of Boston, MA; and John R. and Elizabeth (Betsy) Hagerty of Manasquan, NJ. She also leaves behind her Granddaughter, Amanda Swanberg-Baker and husband Robert Baker of Valenzia, PA and four Great Grandchildren: Kylie Sara, Jewelie Violet, James Robert and Thea Dawn. Additional survivors include Sister-in-Law Eleanor (Hagerty) MacKenzie; niece Sally MacKenzie-Dubel and husband Wayne of Beaver, PA; and nephews Dr. Paul L. MacKenzie and wife Nicole of Conters, Switzerland; Andrew MacKenzie of Houston, TX; and Jeffrey I. MacKenzie and wife Pamela of Rocky Grove.Friends and family may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the funeral service immediately following with Rev. Dear John, Ellen, and Dave, I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I wish I could be there with you. Please be comforted with all the great memories and wonderful things your mother gave you. I often recall the wonderful times our families had on the shores of Ocean City, NJ. Of course there were other times as well. The “card club” may be playing 500 in heaven!
