Orval D. Arthur, 87, of Meadville, passed away on November 3, 2013 at White Cliff Nursing Home. He was born in Conneautville a son of W.C. Arthur and Mary Z. Adkins Arthur.
He attended Dicksonburg and Conneautville schools. He was a merchant seaman for two years.
Orval liked to play the guitar, banjo and listen to country, gospel and blue grass music.
He was a member of the Tri-State Music Association.
Orval is survived by three sons, Randy Arthur and his wife Vicki of New Enterprise, PA, David Arthur of Johnstown, PA, and Brian Arthur of Meadville; two daughters, Tracy Jones and her husband Jim of Meadville, and Dianne Pyne and her husband Steve of Conneaut Lake; two grandsons; three granddaughters; a great grandson; a sister in law, Helen Withrow of Chauffeur, New York; two nieces; three nephews.
He is preceded is death by his wife, Lois; a sister-in-law, Ruth; two brothers, Chester Arthur and his wife Mildred and Jesse J. Arthur and his wife Orpha; one sister, Maxine Bunnell.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville with Pastor Jerry Walton of First Baptist Church, officiating.
