Nathaniel Vincent Durell

October 16, 1993 ~ January 5, 2026

Born in: Canton, Ohio
Resided in: Franklin, Pennsylvania

Nathan Durell, 32, of Franklin passed away suddenly in a work automobile accident while on his way to a job in Connecticut on January 5, 2026.

Born in Canton, Ohio on October 16, 1993, he was the son of Melanie (Weber) Coon and David Durell who survives.

Nathan was a very smart and loyal person who was very shy until he got to know you then he came out of his shell. He loved to laugh and when he smiled, it lit up the room. If you had the privilege of meeting Nate, you would instantly love the soft spoken and kind hearted person he was as he loved to help people.

He loved to talk about the bible to his pastor and anyone that wanted to also. He attended Grace Baptist Church regularly.

He liked his job as he liked to travel so he could try different foods from all parts of the world if he could. He would come home and tell us about the foods he had tried. He loved coming home to play his video games with online people and would play all weekend.

In the last few years, he started to love to go shooting guns and joined the coon club but wasn’t home a whole bunch so he didn’t go shooting a lot.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his brother, Ben Durell; his step father Bill Coon, his step mother Carol Durell; his aunts and uncles Jeff Weber, and his wife, Tauni, Greg Weber, and his wife, Kelleen, Christina May, Amy Penka, Kim Nutter and her husband, Roger, and Lori Groves; his nephews Noah, Bryce, Emerson, and Easton Durell; and many cousins.

Nate was preceded in death by his older brother, Anthony David Durell who passed away in 2016 at the age of 28; and his grandparents Nancy Penka, Thomas Weber, Charlie Durell, and Joretta Durell.

Guests will be received at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 12:00 pm until the start of the funeral service at 2 pm with Pastor Jake Coon officiating.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. No words could fully express my sorrow for the tragic loss of Nate, much to young.
He had such a beautiful smile that matched his beautiful blue eyes.
    He will be dearly missed.
May God give Melanie, Ben, and Bill much comfort and peace.
My sincerest condolences. Love you guys ~ Tara from Az.

  2. So very sorry for your loss, very tragic! So glad that Nate knows Jesus and he is waiting on the rest of us to join him in praising our Lord and Savior!

  3. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your son. My heart aches for you. I pray that God surrounds you with His peace and comforts you in ways only He can. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Please know you are in my prayers, and I am here for you. 🤍

  4. Nathaniel will be truly missed .He was a true friend I held near to my heart. His palate was impeccable he always picked the best places to eat and I learned real quick to order what he got because it’d be way better than what I was thinking about ordering and he could turn any day into an Adventure . He was so smart and loved sharing his knowledge about subjects he was passionate about. I could listen to him talk for hours. Nathaniel had great taste, he definitely knew quality. I learned so much from him and experienced so many new things in life just by knowing him ,I will forever be grateful to have met him and his heart I am going to miss him so much ❤️ .Sending love and prayers to his family and church members .

  5. Melanie, my heart is broken with the tragedy of the loss of your youngest son. I am in shock, filled with grief, sorrow, and remorse. Being a mother and losing two sons, I just can’t imagine how you are feeling. Please know that all my prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Praying that God will provide you all with peace, comfort, and strength in the midst of this horrible loss. I truly wish that I knew my nephew Nate more than I did. He was the one that got lost in the hustle and bustle of our lives. Even though I didn’t get know him like I should have, he was amazing. I know how precious he was. He was smart, strong, and courageous. And a true Blessing from above.

  6. Toots,
Please find comfort in knowing our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Myself as a mother…..
I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are going through. We are praying for the strength and courage you need to carry you through this extremely difficult time. God bless you all. 🙏 The Schoeppner family.
