Merrilee Rowena Monson

Merrilee R. (Gillette) Monson, 74, of Franklin passed away on June 6, 2024 in her home with her family at her side.
Born in Townville, Pennsylvania on December 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Bette (Bearce) Gillette.
She was a graduate of Townville High School.
Merrilee was known as "The Label Lady" since she was the label maker for Liberty Electronics for many years. Throughout her time there, she made many friends and started a fundraiser to help the workers if needed. To this day, they still raise funds to help the employees. She was an inspiration to many and a friend to all.
She was a kind, caring, and compassionate person who would help anyone in need. She enjoyed fishing and painting and was known as a "Jack of All Trades" since she was very independent and loved working on home improvements, even if it wasn't her home. In her younger years, she loved to ride horses. She had a strong faith in God and previously attended the Franklin Baptist Church. There are no words to express how wonderful and awesome Merrilee was to everyone.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joshua Biltz of Titusville, Jennifer Campbell and her husband, Jamie, of Franklin, Deborah Graham and her husband, Ryan, of Sugarcreek; her grandchildren, Joshua Crow, Gage Crow, Austin Crow, Claudia Campbell, Brett Campbell, Averie Graham, Oaklyn Graham, Azriel Graham, and Mykenzie Biltz; her two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Scott Gillette and his wife, Anita, of Franklin, Joe Gillette and his wife Melissa, of Florida, Dan Gillette and his wife, Martha, of Georgia, Joyce Brown of Seneca, Candy Cornell and her husband, Rich, of Seneca, Darlene Waldorf, of Mercer, and Debbie Gillette of Florida; and her close friend, Mary Vavro of Franklin.

Our very deepest sympathy to children, grandchildren, siblings. I loved Merrilee so much. Heartbreaking to hear of her passing but joy knowing she is without pain and in peace with our Heavenly Father and our family of angels in heaven.
The memory that always comes to my mind is the day you, Debbie and I did “Hands across America”❤️❤️❤️
Rest in peace.
It was such a privilege knowing Merri. I remember her caring for a sick neighbor even when she was unwell herself, always sending things she had baked or grown to us. Such a sweet kind person. Our condolences to your family. Love from the Ralstons
I had the privilege of working with Merri from the computer side of life at work. One particular week I was at her desk more than usual because of label software issues (not her fault). During the 10 or so hours working side-by-side while on the phone with tech support, I got to know the fun side of Merri. It was enjoyable to learn about her off-work life and it made that week particularly memorable. Merri was considered an expert at what she did with us; but the special person that she was became clear through her great personality and variety of interests.
I am so sorry to hear of Merrilee’s passing. She was a super nice lady and I have fond memories of her. Condolences to her family and friends. I am sure she will be missed by many.

I had the good fortune to work with Merri for a number of years as a project engineer. I was tasked early on in my career as being the “go to” engineer to address label file software issues. This allowed me to spend time with Merri as we often performed troubleshooting together. The end result was almost always the engineers messed up the label files.
During these times spent working together, I got to know Merri. She was a lot of fun! She had a playful nature and a great sense of humor. She always showed care for others! After she retired, I would see her out and about and even then, she was always asking about my daughter and my family and how we were all doing. She was really special, and I am going to miss her.
Jen and family – I am very sorry for your loss. You have my heartfelt condolences.
