Maurine S. Stover, 90, of Franklin, passed away at 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at The Caring Place in Franklin where she had resided for the past year.Born April 10, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Maurine was the daughter of the late Henry and Zetta Robinson McCarty. She married Robert Eugene Stover on June 8, 1948 and he survives.Maurine was a 1947 graduate of Franklin High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for more than 25 years as a clerk at Joy Manufacturing. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making quilts, and especially cherished the times she spent with her family.Left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband, is her daughter, Linda S. Exley and her husband, Harold, of Reno PA; her 2 grandchildren, Kathy Lee May of Oil City, and Jennifer Lynn Croyle of Reno, PA; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Morgan Faye Exley of Franklin, and Serina Kristine Croyle of Reno, PA. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Terry McCarty and his wife, Jane, of Franklin, and Dwight McCarty of Reno, PA; and her sister, Melvina Chatley and her husband, Earl, of Franklin.In addition to her parents, Maurine was preceded in death by her 6 brothers, Robert McCarty, Delmar McCarty, Harvey McCarty, Melvin McCarty, Llewellyn McCarty, and Rodger McCarty; and her 2 sisters, Daryle Stroup and Cyrena Manning.Family and friends of Maurine will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. following visitation with Rev.
