Maude D. Rosenberger Maude D. Rosenberger, of Franklin, widow of William R. Rosenberger, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010, just 3 weeks before her 100th birthday, at The Caring Place in Franklin, where she had been a resident since 2004. Maude was born December 12, 1910 in Bell Township, Clearfield County. She was the daughter of the late George F. and Martha Ann Bush Davidson. Maude graduated from Mahaffey High School in 1928 and from Indiana State Teachers College in 1930. She is survived by her sister, Martha Lovelace; a daughter, Sally Maurer and her husband, Stanley, of Ft. Myers, Florida; and her two sons, Robert L. Rosenberger and his wife, Irene, of Franklin, and William J. Rosenberger and his wife, Rebekah, of Meadville. Maude will be missed not only by her children, but also by her 7 grandchildren: Mark Maurer and his wife, Lori; Scott Maurer and his wife, Debbie; M. Shawn Rosenberger and his wife, Marilyn; R. Shane Rosenberger and his wife, Barbara; Melissa King and her husband, Kevin; Erica Rosenberger; and Andrea Rosenberger and her fiance', Dennis Stewart. Maude is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Maude was preceded in death by her two brothers, Eugene Davidson and James Davidson; and her two sisters, Ruth Kuntz and Louise Bell. "Mama Maude", as she was lovingly referred to by some of her grandchildren and great-grand children, was a member of Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, and was also an active member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and was fond of crossword puzzles, playing cards, Scrabble and Boggle, and entertaining her grandchildren by sitting on the floor playing "Spank the Berry Bird." She will be thought of fondly and often. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23 and also from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral Services for Maude will be held at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 24, with the Rev. Joseph P. Martin, Jr., pastor of Cooperstown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Departments, and/or The Caring Place.     This is definitely a voice from the ancient past, but when I read online that your mother had passed away, I wanted to send my sympathy to you. I remember her fondly from the 1960s and the fun we would all have at your cottage. She was a good lady and I know how you’ll miss her.
