It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lucille Pankul, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us at the age of 103 on October 7, 2025. Born on February 23, 1922, in Meadville, PA, Mary was the daughter of Albert Ernest Mercier and Marie Clara Yoest. She married the love of her life, Stephen Pankul, on June 6, 1942, and cherished their time together until his passing in 1978.
Mary’s education included her graduation from Saegertown High School and Meadville Commercial College. She worked as a secretary for Personal Finance Company, Lighthouse Loan and Finance Company, and Bendix Aviation in Philadelphia, contributing her skills during a crucial time of World War II.
A lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs, Mary was also a proud charter member of the former San Rosary Auxiliary. Her vibrant spirit earned her recognition as the oldest resident of Cambridge Springs, a testament to her long and fulfilling life.
Mary leaves behind three daughters, Barbara (Leonard) Shick of Meadville, Diane Fetterolf of Venango, and Patricia Glenn of Corry. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Kimberly Esper and Robert Glenn, along with her great-grandchildren, Marisol Esper, Briley Glenn, and Bella Glenn.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stephen, her siblings Victor Mercier, Robert Mercier, Emma Gilbert, Elizabeth Vosburg, and Dorothy Mercier, as well as her granddaughter Valerie Glenn.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, October 10th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. located at 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11th, at 1:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 165 Beach Ave, Cambridge Springs, with Father Mark Hoffman officiating.
Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in St. Hippolyte Cemetery in Guys Mills, PA.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 165 Beach Ave, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403, in honor of Mary’s enduring faith and community spirit. We hope to celebrate her life with all who knew and loved her.
