Mary Joan Weindorf

MEADVILLE " Mary Joan (Pitts) Weindorf, 81, formerly of Erie Street, Saegertown, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on April 22, 1929, in Corry, a daughter of Arthur and Nellie Pitts. She married James Joseph Weindorf on May 21, 1949; he preceded her in death on April 2, 2007. She was a 1947 graduate of Corry High School. She was employed for many years in the office of Dr. Luther Marshall. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitch, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her children, Wendy Parker and her husband, James, of Aiken, S.C., and Mark Weindorf and his wife, Debbie, of Meadville; three grandchildren, Tracey (Parker) Kelley, Andrew Parker and Jaymison Weindorf; a brother, Arthur Pitts; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Weindorf; and a brother, Richard Pitts. There will be no calling hours and the funeral will be private. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
