Mary A. Holzer
July 20, 1935 ~ October 11, 2023
Born in: Northeast, Pennsylvania
Mary A. (Raymond) Holzer, 88, passed away quickly and peacefully on October 11, 2023. She leaves behind lots of friends, many stories, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and far too many baby blankets.
Beside feeding every child in Crawford Central School District for 25 years, she also raised six children along with her late husband of 44yrs, John (Coonie) Holzer. Alice Reybitz (Conrad), Rose(ann) Hoover (Rick), Conrad, Bill (Joann), Steve (Renee’), and Laura Clift (Brian) all grew up not knowing for sure what their name was. Some combination of all the above would often come out. She was known in the neighborhood for calling the clan home for supper.
Often when you couldn’t find her, she was volunteering in some fashion at St. Brigid’s Church. If there was a position to fill, she did it, and made many amazing friends along the way. She was a long time member of St. Brigid’s Church.
In her spare time she sewed for her children, granddaughters, great granddaughters, and whoever else’s kid she decided was hers. She was a bit of a magician that could take yarn and a needle or thread and a hook and with a few choice words, turn it into a blanket! Many people that she knew and several she didn’t, were blessed with her baby blankets.
Mary lived her whole life in Meadville and never went anywhere that she didn’t know someone, somewhat like the mayor. She shared this part of her personality with her father Burton W. Raymond and her mother Hester (Archer) Raymond watched on.
Waiting to greet her, along with her husband and parents, were her siblings, in-laws, daughter-in-law MIssy, and grandchildren John and Kristi. Hopefully Kristi didn’t boss her around too much.
Family and friends are invited to the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Brigid Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, with Father Tom Trocchio as celebrant.
Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at Kiser Hill Cemetery.
Please make a moment to share a memory or condolence with the family on Mary's Book of Memories online at www.WarrenFH.com.
My Deepest Sympathy and Prayers for the Family. I’ll miss her smiling Face at the Fish Frys or Grandbabies Birthday Parties. Will be Greatly Missed.
I am sorry for your loss. It is my loss also, as Mary and I worked on many commitees together, compared sewing projects and making those blankets and afghans that we both worked on regularly. She was the hit of any party, and we enjoyed many good times together. She will be missed by so many because her personality was one of love, fun and generosity.
Love and Prayers to all her family.

I could write a book on what Who Who meant to me. I will miss her laugh most of all.

This precious lady was among those who made me feel so welcome at St. Brigid’s. Loved her smile and sweet nature and sharing Mass in her company. My thoughts and prayers are with you her family and friends all knowing she is being well loved by our Lord.
