Martha D. Smith

Martha D Smith went to be with her Lord on September 30, 2017. She was born on September 21, 1940 in Armstrong County Pennsylvania. She was a 1958 graduate of Union City Area High School. She worked at Brown Thompson News for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore A Lasher and Elsie Ora Walker Lasher as well as A brother Albert “Paul” Lasher and Emma “Alberta” Lasher Woods and three brothers in infancy. She married Orville K Smith April 29, 1961 until his death on August 11, 2000. She is survived by her sister Sara (Frank) Lasher McClelland of Union City and a brother James W Lasher (Barbara) of Ashtabula, Ohio. She is also survived by six children, Rodney C Smith Sr of Houtzdale, PA, Reginald A Smith of Union City, PA, Randall P Smith (Jean) of Union City, PA, Jessica R Smith Olmstead (Quentin) of Shelocta, PA, Jenni R Smith of Spencerport, NY, and Jeremy O Smith of Union City, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Rodney Smith Jr, Renea Smith Waychoff (Eric), Ashley Smith and companion J Levi Sampson, Conner Olmstead, Jazmin Smith, and Olivia Olmstead. She has two great grandchildren. Alex J Smith and Dante L Waychoff. Services will be held at the Union City Church of the Nazarene, 119 South Main Street, Union City, PA 16438 on Saturday, October 7, 2017. The viewing will be from 2 to 5 pm with the funeral service at 5 pm with Reverend George Tutor, officiating.
