Marion W Huff

MEADVILLE " Marion W. Huff, 89, of Golfview Manor, Meadville, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. Born in Meadville on Sept. 9, 1920, she was a daughter of Orin Robert and Almira Bemis Wood. She married William J. Huff on June 20, 1952; he preceded her in death in May 1997. She retired from Bell Telephone as a long distance phone operator. She enjoyed reading and traveling. She loved her cat, B.J., and watching birds and animals. She was a member of the Eat and Travel Club and Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of First Baptist Church, KJU Sunday school class and the Women’s Missionary Society at the church. Survivors include a son, Jon Huff of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wood of Saegertown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Smock and Helen Fabian; and three brothers, Clark Wood, Harold Wood and Walter Wood. A memorial service will be conducted May 28 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Meadville, with Pastor Jerry Walton of the church officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville. The family requests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, or First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut St., Meadville, Pa. 16335. Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
