Marion Jane Chisholm Conklin Marion Jane Chisholm Conklin, 78, formerly of 1181 Elm St., Meadville, and residing at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at Wesbury. She was born in Meadville on April 16, 1930, the only child of the late John (Jack) and Fay Kent Chisholm. She was also the granddaughter of the late retired Judge O. Clare Kent. Marion went to Meadville schools and St. Elizabeth's Academy, Olean, N.Y. She had worked at Murphy's, Grants, and Brown and Jones before going to work at Talon, where she met her husband, David L. Conklin. They were married Sept. 17, 1955. He preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1990, after 35 years of marriage. She loved her many pets. Marion always had something funny to say to put a smile on your face. She enjoyed watching "Lawrence Welk," old movies and sports. Marion will be sorely missed by those who knew her. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Conklin Coulter and her husband, Randy, of Conneaut Lake and their children, Chelsey and Austin; her son, John R. Conklin Sr. and his wife, Diana, of Lexington, N.C., and grandchildren John R. Conklin Jr. of Meadville, Melissa Wickert and her husband, Shawn, of Espyville, James Walker of Meadville and David J. Conklin of Lexington, N.C. She is also survived by a great-grandson, Landon Mitchell Wickert, of Espyville; and three nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents and her husband, Marion was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Edward J. Conklin and his wife, Oleta; sister-in-law, Eleanor Olsen and her husband, Frank Olsen; her many cats she loved through the years; and her pet parrot, Sammy. The memorial service will be in Barco Chapel at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, Thursday at 5 p.m., with the Rev. Timothy Solomon of Emmanuel United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, in Marion's name, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335. The family would like to thank Wesbury for all of the care given to Marion and the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
