Marian Lavina Barker

Marian Lavina Barker, 83, of 3651 Georgetown Road, Polk, went to her heavenly home at 10:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2010 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca of natural causes in the presence of her loving family. Born January 22, 1927 in Venus, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward Emmanuel and Minnie Viola Wise Ziegler. Marian worked in the laundry department at Polk Center until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren and pets. Marian was first married to Eli Earl Salsgiver on September 24, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1978. Marian was married on March 28, 1981 to Clifford Barker. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2006. Marian is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Beveridge and her husband, Merle of Grove City and Gail Salsgiver and her husband, Kenneth (Jake) Turner of Polk; 9 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Pete, Earl, and Ralph Ziegler; a sister, Dorothy Moon, and a great grandchild, Austin Grove Pierce. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow in Shotz Cemetery in Tylersburg, PA. The family suggests memorials be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517.
