Margaret C. Johnson Margaret C. Johnson, 94, formerly of 1220 Chestnut Street, Franklin, and Sugarcreek, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, at 8:50 p.m., at The Caring Place on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Born November 10, 1916, in Franklin, Margaret was the daughter of the late Russell H. Sr., and Julia Brink Cardy. She was married to Edwin A. Johnson, Sr., (former Chief of Police of Sugarcreek Borough) on January 7, 1936, and he preceded her in death. Margaret was retired from Polk Center where she had worked as a Resident Aide for 12 years. She belonged to the Fox Street Church of God, and had been an active member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary at one time. Margaret had also worked for 10 years as an Office Assistant for Dr. R.W. Kennedy. She also had been a member of the Franklin Hospital Auxiliary. Margaret is survived by her son, Edwin A. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Delia, of Saipan; and her daughter, Mary Kay Brown, of Rocky Grove. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, William McDaniel, Jr. of Naples, Florida, Bonnie Sharrar and her husband, Calvin, of Franklin, SSGT Charles McDaniel, U.S.M.C, of Cherry Point, North Carolina, Jill Williams and her husband, John, of Titusville, Christine Huey and her husband, Butch, of Oil City, Edwin Johnson III and his wife, Deb, of Kansas City, Kansas, MerriLee Rhodes and her husband, Tim, of Titusville, Eric Johnson and his wife, Leanne, of Oil City, Russell Johnson of Arizona, John Johnson, U.S. Navy, deployed, and Melody Margaret Johnson, of Saipan; 21 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her brothers, Russell H. Cardy, Jr. and Robert D. Cardy, both of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Frederick R. Johnson; her sisters, E. Louise Caccamo, B. June Lindsey, Ruth M. Raffa, and A. Kathryn Demuro; her brothers, Frederick C. Cardy, Jr. and Jack T. Cardy; and an infant son. Family and friends of Margaret will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Thursday, August 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 26 at The Caring Place in Franklin, with Pastor Lonny Wolford, pastor of the Fox Street Church of God, officiating.
