Mae Lucille Downs

Mae Lucille Downs, 95, formerly of Cambridge Springs, passed away, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born on May 9, 1919 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania a daughter of Gregor Manns and Dessie Hugan Manns. She married Kenneth M. Downs on July 23, 1942, he preceded her in death in 1985. She owned and operated Downs Funeral Home with her husband for 23 years. Mae was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and was involved in many civic and church organizations. She is survived by a daughter, Kenyann Lucas and her husband Charles of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a son, Greg Downs and his wife Carol of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Jamie Brierton and her husband, Jessica Juarez and her husband, Matt Lucas and his wife, and Emily McEneely and her husband; five great grandchildren, Jake Brierton, Sadie and Evan Juarez, Nico Lucas, and M.J. McEneely. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, Mae was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Vince Manns. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Beach Ave, Cambridge Springs. Following the Rosary Service a memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00am at the church with Father David Poulson as celebrant. Burial will take place in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
