Mae Hazen Mae Hazen, 91, of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, died there Friday, May 22, 2009.She was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Ambridge, a daughter of George and Jean Hanstine Krohe. She married Victor L. Hazen Aug. 2, 1941; he preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1995.She was a retired secretary with McCroskey Tool and previously worked for Judge Herbert Mook as his personal secretary in Meadville.She enjoyed traveling on bus trips to many locations, and playing cards.She taught Sunday school for many years and belonged to the Professional Women's Association and belonged to the Women's Group of St. Paul's Church. She was affiliated with New Beginnings Church of God.Survivors include a son, James L. Hazen and his wife, Kathy, of Powell, Ohio; two grandchildren, Susan Daig and Ellen Woltamath; two sisters, Betty Matthews of Decatur, Ind., and Grace Phillips of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Ellen Jean Bloom; and a sister, Jean Dudenhaver.Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.The funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Ferraro of New Beginnings Church of God officiating.Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Township.The family requests memorials be made to New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
